In order to better understand the various causes of acne, it is important to understand what does and does not cause acne.

Does Hormones lead to outbreaks?

This one is one of the most common cause of acne in teenagers. The presence of extra hormones in the body is often enough to trigger an acne outbreak. Because of that women are often subject to experience more severe outbreak during one point in their menstrual cycle. Stress can also be responsible for the release of additional hormones in the body.

Dirt??

Very often people suffering from acne are though to be people with poor personnal hygiene, which is totally untrue in most cases.

Bacteria

Acne is the result of a bacteria that infects the clogged pores of your skin, resulting in an inflammation that usually shows itself as reddened skin or as a pimple.
